2020 marks the 25th year for CCA Maryland. The story of CCA Maryland's founding is much like that of our sister states. A start with a small group of anglers coming together, sharing a passion for fishing, and a vision for creating a better future for recreational fishing, and the resources we all rely on.
The Chesapeake Bay, a true national treasure, is the nursery ground for many of the Mid-Atlantic's most iconic and important sport-fishing species. The striped bass, Maryland's state fish, supports the most valuable recreational fishery on the coast. More than 70% of all striped bass are believed to be spawned in the Chesapeake region, and this is just the start to the story of why the health and Chesapeake is so vital.
Over the last 25 year's CCA Maryland has has built a strong network of grass-roots members and supporters, and the Greater Washington Chapter acts as an important hub of membership and engagement on key issues for our cause.
Join us on March 4th as we celebrate more than just Maryland, and come together in our nations capital to share the many great achievements of Coastal Conservation Association, and look forward into our 25th year and beyond.
